Gear Town FAQ

Gear Town World
Gear Town lives in an post apocalyptic world where humans barely advanced to city life civilization. Its not exactly as clean as future like fantasies but its not really Victorian steam punk either. It meets some where in the middle.

What is Gear Town?
Its a city protected by a enormous wall. Personally,I like to consider it as a Human preserve. The outside world is far too dangerous for the rare species "human" to venture in high masses. So we keep them all in here.

Blah blah some world mythology here

Six Robotic Titans have been monitoring the refurbishment of the planet for centuries when the inhabitants of the planet supposedly died out. But slowly and surely the creatures of the world were restored once more due to the careful and helpful hands of the Giants. As the world flourished, the titans Died out one after another until a single Titan was left. They say the 6th Titan walks along the the surface, constantly spinning the world so we can have day and night. Or he sleeps below us until the day he is needed or rusts away. -From a group of really really old GT citizens.

What does it look like?

* A city whose silhouette looks like (from a distance) a giant sundial. The city is surrounded by walls and the tallest building in it is the Baron’s tower. The city’s color pallet is usually gray and rusty red. Maybe in some areas there’s painted metal.
* The Baron’s tower looks like the space needle with a gear jutted under it. No other building, besides the Baron’s, can be built taller than the wall.
* The city is pretty destitute. The city likes to recycle a lot! Nothing is ever wasted, everything has a use.
* The entire culture of Gear Town has been built around the aesthetic of the Gear symbol.
* The sky is never blue.

How big is Gear Town?
If it were compared to a real life city, it would probably be as big as new york.

How do Gearbot/human social systems & hierarchies work? With humans being practically livestock, are they treated as such? Do some bots see humans as something more? Can humans be employed in predominately Gear Bot run institutions and are the bots seen as traitors if they do? Do they get benefits the regular people don't?

-Bots and humans coexist like any other city. Some people think they are better than the bots, some robots think they’re better than humans. Some get along, some don’t. Humans and bots can work for each other and with each other, but their opinion of the other race is strictly personal. The hierarchies tend to thrive on whomever lives closer to the center of town, as those folks tend to get a better life. Benefits also get better the closer you are to the Baron’s tower.

Who is the Baron?

The Baron is the ruler of Gear Town. No one has ever seen him, and it’s rumored that he’s not very nice and he sends bots to go after humans to grind for fuel and kidnaps citizens to make them “better”. He’s a bit fanatical. He speaks though the bull horn system that’s scattered all around the city about claiming that he is the one who protects the city, and how much everyone is precious to him. He's the one who enforces the gear mark branding, which signifies that the citizens belong to the Baron and to Gear Town.

What is the grinding process?

The grinding process is when humans are thrown into a giant blender like mechanism. This terrifying mechanism uses every essence of the bodies it receives to fuel and lubricate Gear Town. The Baron sends his Gear bots into town to collect as many humans as they can periodically for this grinder. The baron himself considers it a sacrifice to the last Robot Titan. ( MAY HE KEEP RUNNING AND NEVER RUST)

Are the citizens aware of this?

- The mass population of humans and robots are oblivious to the fact that the humans are hunted and grinded for fuel.
- The mass population is, however, aware that there’s more beyond the walls, but they are happy where they are. (Thanks to the Baron's constant preaching about how he protects them from the dangers of the outside world.)

I wanna fight! Where’s my super suit?

- The weapons are DIY (do it yourself), built out of any accessible material in the city. IG. Makeshift swords, axes, guns, etc.

Is there magic?

-Eh...Like David Blaine stuff? Sure. Fortune telling, curses and stuff? Sure. Summoning demons/monsters/angelsidk and ripping holes into hell? No.

Can I make a flying machine?

-Flying is prohibited in this city, but you can hover.

Is there food?

- The Gear Town has a steady supply of food and water. Don’t ask how... its just there.

How do Gear Bots view humans with mechanical upgrades? Are they tolerated or mocked?

-Again, it depends on personal opinion of the character.

Is there any plant life in Gear Town?

There are small pockets of greenery in the city located in random places.

Whats the Currency In GT?

Silver and Copper Cogs and a barter system mix.

What's transportation like?
It's like regular transportation in a normal city, like bikes, junky cars, trains, scooters.

If there's any questions at all please contact me and I hope i can help you.
